Everything You Need Before Your First Infusion

We want your experience at Southwood to be as smooth and comfortable as possible. Here's what to know before you arrive.

What to Expect

Your Infusion Experience, Step by Step

01

Referral & Scheduling

Your physician will send a referral to our team. Once received, we'll contact you to schedule your appointment, verify your insurance, and answer any questions before your visit.

02

Insurance Verification

Our team handles insurance verification on your behalf before your first appointment. We'll confirm your benefits and let you know of any expected out-of-pocket costs in advance.

03

Arrival & Check-In

Arrive a few minutes early for your first visit to complete intake paperwork. Our staff will greet you, review your treatment plan, and get you settled in your private suite.

04

Your Infusion

A registered nurse will start your IV and monitor you throughout the infusion. You're welcome to relax, read, watch TV, or work on your laptop. Most infusions take 30 minutes to 3 hours.

05

Post-Infusion & Follow-Up

After your infusion, you'll be observed briefly before discharge. Our team will provide aftercare instructions and coordinate with your referring physician on your progress.
